The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) developed and maintains a robust EHR known as VistA - the Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture - that was designed to support a high-quality medical care environment for the military veterans at hundreds of VA medical centers and outpatient clinics across the country.
VistA has a proven track record of supporting a large variety of clinical settings and medical care delivery systems. Facilities range from small clinics that provide solely outpatient care to large medical centers with inpatient units and their associated specialties, such as surgical subspecialties, cardiology, psychiatry, etc. VistA supports clinically relevant record keeping that improves patient care by improving clinical and administrative decision-making.
ViTel Net Services, with over 25 years experience developing the VistA System, are perfectly placed to assist those who choose to adopt the VistA system, to successfully master, install, and maintain the software for their own use.
ViTel Net has developed a solution to provide image related capabilities that support clinical decision-making, improve user satisfaction, and patient care by providing an integrated medical imaging solution. This solution, based on the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) VistA Imaging system has been expanded to meet the needs of non-VA providers and other healthcare facilities.
This system has been implemented in the VA as well as the Indian Health service, Tribal Sites, Oroville Hospital, FMC Hospital in Kurdistan and throughout the Kingdom of Jordan.
ViTel Net's Imaging system greatly enhances the users’ ability to capture document and medical images into the existing VistA electronic medical record allowing users to view these images from any location. The system serves out DICOM Modality Worklist information (i.e. patient demographics and study information) to DICOM compliant non-Radiology modalities such as electrocardiogram carts, retinal cameras (fundus, OCT), visual fields, dental intra-oral cameras, GI Endoscopy/Colonoscopy, etc.
