Children’s National Health System and ViTel Net have been partners in telemedicine for over 20 years, providing innovative approaches to expand the reach of care for children around the Washington, DC metro region, United States and the world. We have been able to expand our telehealth program from a single connection between Washington, DC and Maryland to now having partners in over 20 states and 20 countries on 5 continents. This all started with ViTel Net’s state-of-the-art technology and commitment to customization and first class customer service. Over 15,000 telemedicine consultations have been performed at Children’s National, saving the lives of countless children.
Our collaboration has spanned the continuum of care. ViTel Net’s “Forward and Store” tele-echocardiography solution leveraged the advantages of both live and “Store and Forward” telemedicine and allowed our program to be one of the early adapters of this technology. We implemented their home health solution to track infants after complex open heart surgery. These are two just examples of projects that improved clinical care, increased revenue and resulted in important academic publications. We are currently working closely with ViTel Net to pilot their latest innovative technology, Referral Consult, that integrates live telemedicine, multispeciality electronic medical record capabilities and cloud server technology.
ViTel Net has been a true partner in our quest to lead the way in broad implementation of pediatric telemedicine. The key to this partnership is the adaptability of ViTel Net’s technology to meet our needs. Working together with the ViTel Net team has resulted in our vision for the future of pediatric telehealth becoming a reality.
Working with ViTel Net allowed the Ontario Telemedicine Network (OTN) to achieve the goals we set for our Telehomecare Phase One Program. With the right partner, we knew we could improve quality of care for patients and become a leader in remote home monitoring.
ViTel Net proved a perfect fit for OTN - their approach to implementation and ongoing customer service matched our needs. From weekly meetings that continued long after the initial implementation process to the flexibility to make modifications at any point - both quickly and cost-effectively - ViTel Net was a true partner.
ViTel Net took the time to listen and answer our questions and concerns and adapted and modified our remote monitoring system to keep pace with our evolving health care delivery models and new workflows.
In 2003 ViTel Net was awarded a major contract to provide and implement customized, multi-specialty telemedicine technology solutions in the state of Extremadura in Spain. Each telemedicine unit had the ability to be used to deliver most of medical specialties like Teleradiology, Telecardiology, Teledermatology and a lot more.
The Extremadura project connected 14 hospitals to 33 remote sites, including health centers. prisons, youth correctional and residences for old people, to create a seamless telemedicine/telehealth network for consult-referral and correctional health care, which has given us excellent results in terms of number (almost 80,000) and quality of consults. Not only was the initial system customized to address the specific needs in Extremadura, but ViTel Net also provided continued customization as needed as part of their maintenance agreement.
ViTel Net not only delrvered a solution that was ideal for our needs but also did an outstanding job supporting and maintaining the systems. That is why we have been working together with ViTel Net, as a team from 2003, and receiving a really good service and support for 11 years. We highly recommend ViTel Net as a vendor to provide telemedicine/telehealth solutions.
